Founded in 2010 by Natalie Nevares, Mommywise offers highly supportive Sleep Training Programs to families in crisis. (Yes – lack of sleep is absolutely a crisis!) We serve and support parents in their most desperate, painful hours of parenting, and help them to feel rested, confident, and happy in the fastest, most effective way possible.
Mommywise was borne out of Natalie’s personal traumas as a new parent. After recovering from the loneliness, fear, sleep-deprivation, and clinical depression she suffered through in her early parenting years, Natalie devoted her life to serving other families in similar crises. She created the Mommywise Method of In-home Supported Sleep Training, which has been successfully transforming lives ever since. Meet our team:
Natalie Nevares, Mommywise Founder
A savior of sleep-deprived parents and babies, Natalie is devoted to the pursuit of happiness and her mission is to make parenthood a happier, easier place to be. Since launching Mommywise in 2010, she learned that chronic sleep-deprivation is the #1 most urgent crisis parents face, and that she had a special gift for helping parents sleep train their babies, and feeling better. Though sleep training is the gateway to her work, Natalie’s ultimate goal is to help you feel more empowered, confident and connected as parents. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, and two school-aged kids.
Janel Mladenovic, Client Care & Operations Manager
Janel is our secret weapon – the key ingredient that holds us together, and makes Mommywise run smoothly. Janel is a rare blend of tech genius, operational magician, problem solver and streamliner of systems. She hails from her home office in Belgrade, where she runs her own business helping entrepreneurs update and streamline their systems, while enjoying flexible hours and a great quality of life. Though she’s mostly behind the scenes making sure that all of our systems are working smoothly, she’s primarily here for you–to ensure that you have a seamless experience working with us.
Devon Clement, Sleep Coach
Founder of Mama’s Best Friend, Devon has over 20 years experience loving on babies, and supporting new parents. As an experienced postpartum doula, she helps parents get to know their babies, learn how to care for them, and to understand their needs. But what parents’ value most about Devon is the emotional support she brings. She will LISTEN to you in a way that just makes you feel better. She’ll cheer you on, help you build your confidence as a parent and, guaranteed—she’ll make you laugh! She knows that a good night’s sleep is the most valuable gift she can give parents, and she loves the look on their faces when they come out of their bedroom after their baby has slept 11-12 hours for the first time!
Erika Arenger, Sleep Coach
Erika knows what it’s like to be completely overwhelmed and exhausted as a new parent. Her twin daughters didn’t sleep for most of their first 2 years. She researched endlessly to find the perfect sleep training method on her own, but nothing she tried worked permanently. She wishes she had a sleep coach back then! The stress of her early parenting experience led her to become an overnight postpartum doula and now, a sleep coach, so she could help parents get the rest and peace of mind they so desperately need. Her support through the sleep training process is invaluable to her clients, helping them feel calm and confident so the whole family can sleep peacefully through the night.
Sara Sandstrom, Sleep Coach
In 16 years of working with families, Sara has seen it all. As a nanny, postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, lactation counselor, and sleep coach, she has brought so many new families peace of mind and great sleep! She also brings a sense of pragmatism mixed with humor. Her clients adore having her by their side through every stage of parenting, for her warmth, caring, expertise, and friendship. Spending time with Sara is like eating warm chocolate chip cookies, and her presence makes the sleep training process so much easier, and even enjoyable! Together, you will navigate the road between where you are and where you want to be, and you will love having Sara’s guidance on the journey.
Courtney Long, Sleep Coach
Courtney is an expert voice on all things parenting and baby through early childhood. As a trained Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, and Mommywise Certified Sleep Coach with over ten years of experience, she brings a level of professionalism and care that is apparent in everything she does. Courtney has worked with hundreds of families and is passionate about instilling confidence in parents so that they can make the parenting choices that feel right for them. When she isn’t helping families sleep, you can find her volunteering at her son’s school, or learning new skills (like ballet or soccer as an adult). Her laughter is also contagious, and you will love having her in your home!
Sasha Kasko, Sleep Coach
Sasha is a seasoned newborn care specialist, postpartum doula, and has helped countless families get the rest they need. She’s also a mom who understands how confusing all the different sleep training methods are, and how invaluable it is to have customized, expert guidance. After helping her own daughter sleep through the night with the Mommywise method, she knew she wanted to help other families get the sleep they need. Sasha knows first hand just how invaluable sleep is, and offers each family the same warmth, compassion, and personalized support she received. She looks forward to guiding you towards a restful parenthood, and helping you and your baby thrive!
